The Diabetes Association of Barbados is a charitable organization whose mission is “to improve the quality of life for persons living with diabetes and those at risk of developing diabetes through up-to-date education, good self-management and control of their condition”. According to the IDF, more than 30 500 Barbadians are living with diabetes and our aim is to lead in educating the public on the prevention and management of this silent killer. We run a number of community-oriented programmes which includes lectures, Individual and Group Counselling as well as an annual Camp for children living with diabetes. Our Outreach Programmes also include the use of our Mobile Unit to take education, risk assessment screening and testing for blood sugar, blood pressure, HbA1c, cholesterol and weight checks into remote areas of Barbados.

The sustainability, expansion and success of these programmes are heavily reliant on funding from philanthropic individuals and corporate entities as well as on the caring involvement of volunteers. If you are able to donate time or effort to help us with our programmes please call us at 4372285/427-9338 or send us an email at The need is great.

We welcome your support thus far and look forward to continuing our partnership in as we unite to fight diabetes.
